works with the smaller 6 gallon shop vac

I have one of the smaller 6-gallon shop vacs (similar to Shop-Vac 962-06-00 6-Gallon 3-Horsepower Ultra Plus Wet/Dry Vacuum) which comes with a 1 1/4" hose. This is fine for most work but does not connect well to my table saw, which has a port for 2 1/2" hose. I tried using an adapter but it tends to get plugged up.

So I got this hose and was pleased to find that it fits perfectly into my smaller shop vac.

Cannot be used as an extension "out of the box"

I bought this to use as an extension to double the length of my Shop Vac's hose. The problem is that it doesn't connect to the existing hose. You either connect them with duct tape (or the like) or buy a connector/coupling (this: Shop-Vac 9068600 2.5-Inch Hose Coupling ).

Comparable to original VAC hose

Remember to also purchase 'Shop-Vac 9068600 2.5-Inch Hose Coupling' if you plan to connect this to another hose. The quality is comparable to the original hose that comes with your vac. The hose does rotate at both ends of the connector and package comes with additional connectors (not couplings) to fit directly to VAC. Well packaged so no worries about having hose kink.
