This item was a replacement for a defective Mag-Torch MT560C. The Bernzomatic accommodates the large 16.9 oz. MAPP & Propane tanks in a comfortable to wear holster. The holster will adjust to accommodate the standard 14 oz. size tanks. The holster has a convenient tube that will hold the business end of the torch & handle. I have only used it to solder copper pipe up to 2" dia. Here is what I like; highly portable, adjustable flame, instant on & off saves gas, overall a great torch.

I paint with a melted beeswax mixture known as encaustic. After laying down a layer of melted wax, it must be fused with heat from a heated tool, a heat gun or a torch. This Benzomatic self-lighting torch with hose is a wonderful tool to use for fusing. Rather than wearing the heavy-duty cloth holster, I nailed it to the side of my painting table and put the Fat Boy canister into it. I then had the use of the Benzomatic torch and hose without having to bear the weight of the canister, and because the canister was snugly in the holster, there was no danger of tipping it over.
The self-lighting trigger mechanism activates with just a squeeze of my hand, and I can adjust the flame by turning the knob that controls the amount of gas released. Get one of these and make your life a lot more fun!

A Casual user

The first one I ordered ( 1/5/11 ) was defective from the factory ( problem with trigger switch )
Amazon was Great and had a second one shipped to me promptly after notifying them of the defect plus free return shipping for the defective product .
I have had the replacement for about 5 weeks,it arrived (1/14/11 ) I used it on (6 ) six occasions replacing 1/2 coppoer shut offs ( light duty soldering ) for a total of maybe (3) hours of use ....... The "Instant on/off trigger igniter " has just stopped working (2/20/11 ) the product still operates but needs to be ignited. It defeats the purpose of this purchase which was to have an instant igniter.
What a waste of time and money,,,,,,, $56.74
In No way am I making any complaints against Amazon ,,,,,, my complaint is the poor quality of Bernzomatic BZ8250HT Trigger-Start Hose Torch
At one time " Bernzomatic " had a good reputation ,,,,,,,, What happened ?
