Handy little torch
By KP Jandt
I have used many different pencil torches and they always ended up leaking or just stopped working altogether. I`ve already used this one numerous times and it has performed better than any pencil torch in the past. I like the flame adjustment and the bottom ignition switch. It also a handy little flip out stand to elevate the flame off the work surface. It`s easy to fill and lasts quit awhile on a single charge. It seems to be well built;time will tell. I would recommend this for its value and functionality.
Up Date 6/27/13: I have used this little torch many-many-many times and it still works great! The build quality out performs the price.

Good Product but...
By Special K
This is a pretty good product but...
I received the shipment from Singapore (not USA) with custom declarations attached. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive even with Prime shipping.
It is pre-filled with Butane gas (could be considered hazardous shipping). The package was just a soft envelope with bubble wrap --and not hardbox/secure protection.
I thought I could refill the gas using simple zippo Butane liquid I use with regular lighter. But this torch has one way pressure needle valve which means you will require special high pressure gas container to refill it.
This is made in China product -main packaging is in Chinese, English instructions are underneath the paperboard flap.
Product is well-engineered, functions well as jet flame and candlelight flame. Not much good competition out there unfortunately. Consider the points above before making a purchase decision though.

I don't use it for welding...
By Captain Silver
But rather bought it after frustration with virtually every butane fireplace lighter on the market today. The lighters made my a company that makes ballpoint pens work well enough as long as they have butane, but aren't refillable, so when they run out, it's another piece of plastic sitting in a landfill for the next 2000 years. The ones made under a brand that ends in "omatic" are refllable, but use cheap flints, which renders them useless after 3-4 fillings. So far I am happy with the "Jet Pencil" - using it to light fires in the fireplace, tiki torches on the patio, etc. It is long enough that you can get under the logs to light a firestarter brick, etc, w/o worrying about getting burned. The "Jet Pencil" is a little idiosyncratic, and the instructions are next to useless (they seem to have been translated into English only after several interim translations into other languages from the original), but with some common sense and a little patience, you can figure it out. The "Jet Pencil" has two flame settings, one is "slower," more like a cigarette lighter, the other is more like a true butane torch. Unlike other fireplace lighters that require you to keep pressure on a switch to keep them lit, this one doesn't - it will stay lit until you manually turn it off. A very important idiosyncracy - don't light a candle, torch, etc, and then set it down!
