small but useful.

I thought these were going to be bigger then just a few inches but they really do mean mini! They are still strong but it really depends on what you are planning on doing. They are good quality, my only beef would be they really need to disclose size better. Its the only thing about online shopping the bugs me, sellers alot of the time don't give enoughinformation., expecaily about size.

They are what they are.

You're not buying rare-earth magnets or anything a pro would be seen near. These are tiny welding magnets for amateurs & novices welding SMALL pieces of steel - nothing else. And they'll do that just fine, so they rate 4 stars. If each was a full square, it would measure 2". The main corner is chamfered; one is rounded, and one is pointed. Using a 1/4" steel plate on a digital scale, the long side of the magnet was able to remove 3.5lbs from the scale before letting go, so that's all it can lift. Nowhere near the 10lbs in the description, which is why they don't get 5 stars. Maybe they mean 10lbs crush strength - I didn't check that. The shorter sides will have slightly less pull, so you'll never get pinched by these. The black sides are molded plastic, so the magnets won't chip, but if you use these on VERY heavy material, you could melt the plastic.

These things are tiny!

Smaller than I imagined - good for tiny projects. Not strong enough for larger steel. I was hoping they would be some variability in the sizes of the four. It would be more useful if they were different sizes.
