5Great TIG at a great price with plenty of room to grow
By daniel
I've been using a Clarke MIG welder for quite some time and after trying a couple high end Miller machines I decided I had to learn TIG because I wanted to mainly start working with aluminum on my car build but I didn't want to spend $4000 for a Miller Dynasty 200 and I didn't want to get a Diversion which I felt I could outgrow quickly. I've been looking at various low cost inverter TIG welders for the past year and have really noticed these imported inverters are just as good as any high end american made in terms of weld quality (can't speak for the durability and support of some of these machines). I mainly had set my eyes on the Everlast machines, but I decided to get this machine after watching several videos of this welder featured on youtube by Mr Tig and Kevin Caron. The features you get for the price just can't be matched.

The machine arrived well packaged. I was able to test out both 110v and 220v with the TIG 4T and 2T modes both trigger and pedal. Let's just say for the most part I've never TIG welded, but I was able to complete my first project. I was able to modify a set of aluminum valve covers. The arc on the machine is silky smooth. The TIG torch is small and easy to use and so far It hasn't gotten too hot even after a few long beads. The foot pedal might seem small but it feels very rugged and at the same time its very very precise allowing me control the weld pool across different thickness of material and adjust instantly. I feel this machine is not only great to learn TIG with but It plenty of room to grow into a machine that can potentially earn money for you. The machine and all the accessories are very good quality and should last for years.

My main concern when buying an import TIG welder was would the machine limit me in making professional/world class TIG welds? Well the answer is simply no. These days many of the imported inverter TIG machines are on par with many of the high end american made machines in terms of weld quality. The only limit now is the operator. I can't speak for the durability and support for this welder. If I were welding for a living I would want the support of an american company but for most hobbyist the entry price for high end american TIG machines is too high to justify. This welder is a perfect start.

5GREAT MACHINE!
By Caleb Camrann Coker
I can't really believe that I got this quality of welder at such a low price. I am sure the price will rise a good amount after there are a quite a few sold. The package was put together very well and safe. Not anything was broken or damaged. I opened everything and inspected all the components before installing. WP17 Torch is good quality and components are fine as well. It is very easy to connect everything. I used the machine with the 220v - 115v adapter which is a good quality piece as well. The gas regulator works fine but is not great. I will be upgrading to a ball flow meter style regulator when I can. I tried it out first with the foot pedal set at 130 amps on DC. I was testing on some 1/8" plate (Mild Steel). I used the 1/16" thoriated tungsten included. The arc was incredibly smooth. It had plenty of power at only 140 amps to go through the steel. I also tinkered on some stainless steel as well and the amperage control was great! This is a great buy and I can't wait to try it on aluminum and some bigger projects I have planned. There is also some other features that I will greatly enjoy like the pulse, AC Balance and 2T/4T option. Overall great TIG unit and I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to get into TIG welding or someone who is already experienced.

5AHP TIG Rocks It
By richham
Arrived right on time, nicely boxed. Great build quality, included tungsten, ready to go. Hit it with 110 amps DC tig on 1/4 mild steel and laid a nice bead, (100% argon)noted high quality of arc, very smooth, easy start. Cut
apart the bead and noted nice penetration.

Went for the AC and some 1/8 aluminum plate.

Easy to set start and end amps, cleaning, etc , plugged in supplied pedal and.....wow, like butter, love it.

Time to go try it out on my chrome molley roll cage project......

Did not try the stick function but I already have a sweet stick machine, so don't need it.

The big thing to note about this AHP 200DX machine, is the smooth arc, the confidence a set of knobs inspires and the "ready to go" condition when it arrived.

No fiddling with plugs, voltage jumpers, etc.

The torch itself is OK and considering the price, pretty nice.

Its a great machine for those of us that don't need a robust 3 phase, full production machine.

So glad I found AHP and took the chance. It paid off and I'm looking forward to using this little gem for my upcoming tig work.....thanks AHP!
