Original Design Is Often The Best

I'm 72 and I have been welding (of and on) since I left the Navy in 1966. This is the same style of "slag" hammer that they had back then. This is a good basic "slag" hammer and I would recommend buying it even if you are doing brazing.

Good hammer good price. These are not intended for hard banging but rather pecking, chipping and scraping. Does what it should at a reasonable price.

This is a good chipping hammer. I can't imagine a better design. Works great. The grip is especially nice. It's just the right amount of hardness. Soft enough to deform itself rather than chip, hard enough to to dislodge slag in predictable ways.
