Best Price - Hardin HWVPOLSET Variable Speed Polisher 4 Inch Granite Marble Wet Polishing Kit with Diamond Pads

Product Description

This is our new Hardin industrial grade variable speed wet polisher / grinder. This professional unit is equipped with a 950-Watt 8.29-Amp variable speed motor and features a variable speed dial for optimal control. You can operate from 2,000-4,000-RPM. Optimal polishing results are achieved at 2500-RPM. After shaping the edge of your slab (profile wheel not included), you'll most likely want to polish it so that it matches the top of the countertop. This Hardin VSP polishing kit with granite and marble pads is the ideal kit for this application. The pads in this kit are not general or all purpose polishing pads. They are professional grade 4 diameter X 3MM thick granite and marble pads manufactured with a softer bond resin that releases the diamonds at the proper rate for hard materials. Start the polishing process with the lower-Grit diamond pads and work your way up consecutively to the last one to achieve that factory shine. You'll want to take care with the 50 and 100-Grit pads. They are the most aggressive-Grit pads, you can easily chance the shape of your material. This unit is equipped with a 5-Feet 1/4-Inch water line that is positioned under the polisher. The end comes with a brass 5/8-Inchcoupling to thread onto a common garden water hose. The standardized 5/8-11 UNC spindle thread makes it compatible with most attachments on the market. Built-in GFCI (circuit breaker) protects the operator. Also included with this unit is a bail handle (D handle), side handle, spindle wrench, and extra carbon brushes.

4Worked really well
By Slp77
Used this with the DAMO 4inch turbo wheel to remove cutback (linoleum glue). Took up 35sq ft in about 2 hrs.
Total time from setup to cleanup was 6 hrs (spread over 2 days).

Adjust the water to just dribble out, set it low to mid speed and don't push hard. Just slowly move it
within a few sq ft area slightly angled. This worked really well.

It could have been a 5 star except.
- The water valve is kind of flimsy and being underneath the unit you tend to knock it once in awhile.
Not only does this change your water flow but I'm concerned its going to eventually break off. It would
be much better having the valve on top.

- The black plastic shield does not have the quick release shown in the picture. Instead they use an
automotive hose clamp. It works but its not as quick putting it on.

- Unlike in the picture the handle attaches at a 45 degree angle. This actually worked out better for me
but the picture makes it look like its adjustable. Its not.

- The black plastic shield was warped, I was still able to use it but it does make you wonder what else
might be wrong with the unit.

I actually was wondering if I'd gotten a knockoff in place of the real thing. After using it I have
no such worries. The motor in this thing is more than strong enough for what I need. It also comes
with a side handle for when you have to get up next to a wall.

I'll try to post 3 pictures (Before, Midway and After) to show the results.

5Great Buy
By xskywriter
I am putting in a granite tile countertop. I purchased this unit to bevel and polish the edges after I made the cuts of various shapes with the wet saw. It worked perfect. Easy to assemble and use. To bevel the edges of the tile to match the uncut tile start with the 200 grit pad. This removes it at a good pace. If you start with any lower grit it goes to fast and you have to big of a bevel. For polishing the side and face use all the grits. When you finish with the 6000 grit you will have the same finish as the original tile surface.

5Polishing Granite Counter tops is terriffic
By Mary
When we were remodeling a house recently purchased I wanted granite counter tops in the kitchen. This Hardin Variable Speed Polisher worked great and and we saved over $2,000 doing the job ourselves. Easy to use, water hook up didn't work well but a bottle of water next to the job site did the same thing, and I'm sure we'll find many more uses for this polisher in the future.
