Fantastic Product

I have used this for a little over a month now and I love it! I bought a 3-pack of blades, but after a hundred inches or so of cutting mild steel and aluminum, I'm still using the blade that came on the saw. Slow and steady wins the race, so to speak. I built a simple stand so I could use it as a vertical bandsaw, and it mounts to the frame where the hook was.
Pros: Sturdy. Powerful. Variable speed is great for cutting different materials. The LED light is mounted directly behind the blade, so in the vertical position, the shadow becomes a cutting guide.
Cons: The threads in the frame where the hook mounts could be a bit beefier. I stripped one of the holes without much effort.
The case is very cheaply made. Mine doesn't even close completely. The blade storage in the case requires that you deform them to such a degree that I worry about the longevity of the blades.
A trigger lock would be very handy. In my application (mounted, vertical position), I use a velcro cable tie to lock it on. Seems like an inexpensive addition that would be very helpful.

Best portable band saw made

Best made no doubt!!!!!!!! I use one almost every day. The 10 amp model is the one to have if you cut thick stock. Have owned many Milwaukees and would never go back.

I bought this saw after borrowing a friends portable band saw to cut metal. I was previously using my sawz-all to cut metal the few times that I needed to and found out just how much faster and easier these types of saws cut. I would recommend this saw over the competitor's saw that I had borrowed from my friend. The light is a very nice feature as these saws generally block most of the light from above and from the right side. Without it, it is very hard to see pencil or marker marks on the steel as you make your cut. The rubber bumpers are also very nice and a nice feature just for setting the saw down. These saws are not very light and while I was using the competitor's saw without the bumpers, I felt like I had to set it down like I was handling a carton of eggs. I can not speak for the longevity of this product as I only use it occasionally and have only had it a few months.
