Great saw but...

I really love this little saw! I bought a DeWalt 40T precision framing blade with it and that's what I'm using now. Not sure if that is making the saw work so well. The only problem I encountered was how quickly it discharges the battery. I have three 20v 1.5AH batteries and they work great with the drill and impact driver that I got them with but the 1.5AH battery can't power this saw for long.
I just ordered a couple of 3.0AH batteries so we'll see how they hold up.
BTW, I was cutting 2x8s and 1x3s today, the first day I really put this saw to the test. I made about a dozen cuts on the 2x8s and maybe 10 cuts on the 1x3s before the battery died. The battery was fully charged but sat for a couple of weeks without use. I don't know how much it discharged in that time. Just an FYI.
The saw is lightweight. I love its stop brake. And it expels wood chips away from the user. My 120v panel saw does just the opposite.

This is an upgrade for me from the 19V Sears unit that did a lot of work for me. This saw, however, is amazing. Two things though...it does not come with the hex wrench you will need to install or change blades, nor does it have a place to store it (in the handle? HINT!!!) And the blade it comes with is junk. The 6 1/2" Freud Diablo 40 tip D0641X blade is FAR better and with the battery this saw comes with it lasts a lot longer then I expected. GREAT saw, just needs the better blade (and wrench!)

One word "Butter"

After shearing through the cord of my beloved 'other' brand. I decided to go cordless with the Dewalt 20v. I read reviews on the internet and also purchased a 40 tooth saw blade. The saw cuts like "butter", and leaves a baby smooth finish. The best part of all is; I just reach into my tool bag and start cutting, NO extension cords. This fact alone makes this purchase a winner! I am so impressed that I am soon ordering the 20v jigsaw soon. (don't tell my wife).
