5To Mr. unhappy with vice
By Jerry S.
To the man that has the warped vise. I have worked with tools like this all my life (i am 70). Two bolts are all you ever need in this vise, most time i don't even use bolts, the bit is turning clockwise, center punch where hole goes, clamp in vise, facing the drill press, put the handle of vise sticking past left side of post and drill, if handle doesn't reach post then bolt it to table. The man said vise is warped, take a piece of sandpaper about 80 grit (LARGER) than base of vise, tape it to flat place on floor, or to a table saw top, work the vise back and forth, and in circular motion, keep looking at it, when it is sanding all the way around the base of vice, it is flat. It could be the table top of your press unflat? If that be the case, take a board larger that table top and glue the sandpaper to the board, good and flat (NO bubbles) and place on table top and sand back and forth and round and round until flat, you can see where paper is cutting. Hope this helps some of you folks??

4Decent for the price
By Gauda
This vise is about what you'd have to expect for twenty bucks. Fit and finish is mediocre, but it does the job of holding something securely while drilling. Definitely beats trying to use your hand! While this vise might not fit on all drill presses, it fit on my Rikon product since it has eight slots in the table. I can usually only get two bolts in, but that is more than enough to hold it in place. I use another, smaller vise clamped into this one when I need to hold rods vertically or other things more securely (since the other vise is much higher quality, but smaller capacity). Gives me a poor man's "X-Y" vise.

1Disappointing, though not surprising
By dk579
I bought this vise because the price was very reasonable and it looked sturdy. I understand the typical quality of items at this price point and wasn't expecting miracles, just something with a flat bottom that would hold my work while drilling. The problem is that the base is EXTREMELY warped and will not sit flat no matter how clamped. This means that, no matter how well you have your drill press calibrated, you can never drill something perfectly vertically using this vise. I figured maybe I got a dud and should try another, but it had the exact same problem. I know better quality vises are a good deal more expensive but buying something like this that simply does not serve the function required of it is just throwing away money.
