Good tool for the proper jobs

every tool has its place and use. Reading virtually all the negative feed back has one thing in common, they were doing something this tool was not designed to do. This isn't the tool to make long cuts, nor is it the tool to replace other tools. A oscillating saw is for jobs where other tools don't fit. Need to take off trim off a wall to up in a shelf... this it the tool you want. Need to trim a room, this is NOT the tool you want.

My experience was different (and better) than several other reviewers

I've used this to remove grout around some cracked bathroom tiles and it work perfectly. Instead of having to saw away by hand for a long time, this finished the job in a few minutes. The tool-free blade change feature made it easy for me to swap the (included) grout saw for the Oscillating Carbide Rasp (purchased seperately) which I used to clean up the adhesive left under the tiles. I consider the tool has already paid for itself in the time it saved me in just this one job.
I did notice it got warm as I was using it. However, between wearing a good pair of gloves (Custom Leathercraft 125L Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves), and switching it off every few minutes so I could clear away the grout dust with my ArmorAll AA255 Utility Wet/Dry Vacuum it never got so hot that it was a problem. (I only take the time top mention other products if I feel they are worth your consideration.)
Finally, and it may be a small point, unlike other tools that come packed in a carrying case, this case is actually usable. I've seen other tools where, once you take them out of their case they never fit back in. In this case the tool fits back into its case with a bit of room to spare for a few extra accessories.

Porter-Cable Oscillating Multi-Tool is one of many on market. This is the second Porter-Cable Osc Multi-tool I have bought. The tools are superior to others I have seen and tried because the tool change is quicker and a positive lock is acheived with ease.The cord is a great length for access between outlets in homes. I use mine tool for cutting sheetrock along pre laid out lines which makes for easy patchs. My only negative about Porter-Cable multi-tool is the newer tool does not accept the older cutting tools, different hole pattern.
