I recieved this jigsaw in a timely manner and properly packaged.
This jigsaw rocks, it feels absolutely solid in your hand and you can see that it is a top quality product, no cheap parts here.
The trigger is very accurate to sense your finger pull, and accelerates very smoothly; feels very balanced in your hand.
The built in blower function can be turned on or off; the T-blade mechanism grasps the blades very firmly, no wobbles.
Overall, extremely satisfied, you won't be disappointed.

It is the best cordless jigsaw I ever had. Precision cuts are a must for me. Powerful, battery last very long. Congratulation DeWalt. Price wise, a little high, totally worth.

I am an academic but find myself doing small to medium sized construction projects around the home about four to six times a year. About two years ago, I built a new deck and terrace behind our home and invested in DeWalt's 20 volt premium cordless kit DCK592L2 (I transitioned over from previous DeWalt, Skil and Milwaukee corded tools). I have since put those 20 volt tools to the test many times over and found them to be of superior quality. The only main item missing from that kit was a nice high end jigsaw (because at that time, DeWalt had not yet released a jigsaw in their 20 volt line). In late 2011, they finally released the DCS331 20 volt jigsaw, and then the DCS331B in late 2012. (there are only very minor differences between the two models) Recently, I began to build a motorized shoe closet for the wife and wanted to add some additions to my son's treehouse, and needed a jigsaw for its ability to make rounded cuts. I ordered the DCS331B and have been using it now for three weeks to finish up these latest projects. I can say without a doubt, this is the finest jigsaw I have ever owned or used. It is a very nice unit which weighs about 5 1/2 pounds (2.5 kg) and possesses a mult speed trigger, tool less blade exchange and easy bevel setting. I am not easily impressed, especially over items like tools, but this baby reeks high quality and goes well beyond the normal quality of a typical Harry Homeowner type tool. I think any professional contractor who might need this several hours each day would be pleasantly surprised with this unit. The variable speed trigger allows you to ramp up to 3000 rpms (50 Hz) if you need it. And that is nice, because it makes going through treated lumber a breeze. There is also a side vent blower which greatly helps with surface clearance as you make a cut. And the run time for me has been excellent; one 3.0 Ah pack gets me about 50 minutes on treated lumber or up to 90 minutes on something less dense. This DCS331 B also allows regular T shank blades or flush cut blades. The shoe also has a low friction fit pad for use when making cuts on high end materials and the bevel action is all metal and allows you to set your angle up to 45 degrees on either side. Finally, this jigsaw is not just vertically reciprocating but actually allows orbital cutting for faster results. I tried this feature and it actually works very well on less dense materials.
If all of the above does not add up to five stars, I dont know what would. For the $158 I paid for this unit, it is five stars across the board. Very happy buyer.
(BTW, the DCS331B is the tool only without any power packs or a pack charger. If you need the tool, power packs and charger together, you need DCS331L1)
