Where have you been all my life 20 volt MAX!?
By Guy
I literally use this for everything and can't believe I went so long without an impact driver and saw. In my opinion this is the best kit because I already had an electric Dewalt drill and it doesn't come with a stupid flashlight as part of the kit.
I have yet to run out of juice with the two batteries and they charge incredibly quick between jobs. The impact driver has worked flawlessly with auto related projects including the complete disassembly of an F350 and also use it often for changing wheels. Also, used it for some wood projects with lag bolts and had enough power to sink the heads half an inch into soft wood. Sawzall has been extremely useful for getting into tight areas where removal of pipes, hoses, etc. are needed. Absolutely no complaints so far, except I need to ween myself off the impact driver for certain situations.

excellent value

i had the old 18 v dewalt and the batteries sucked. i was not going to by another dewalt due to the battery issues. but the dewalt rep was in a store that i visited and he asked me to give them another try. so i did. i am very pleased with these batteries and tools. the batteries are now backed for 3yrs instead of the 1yr for the 18v. the batteries last a long time and charge up quickly. the tools are well balanced compared to the old style. very happy with them

Recip Saw awesome, impact driver ok with issues
By John Gossett
After several months of use, including remodeling a kitchen I've used these enough to provide feedback. First, I found the battery life more than sufficient for its use. In over two weeks of driving screws all over my kitchen while installing cabintes I only had to replace the battery once. The Reciprocating Saw has a bit shorter life, perhaps two hours continuous use, but certainly good enough to do things like brush busting and trail clearing for an afternoon and kitchen removal (sawing through lots of 2x4's with nails) with a couple of battery recharges along the way.
The saw is very strong and capable. I compared it to my brother's 18 V PC RS and there was a significant strength of cut benefit for the 20V Dewalt. In every aspect this saw works as expected.
The impact driver works well over all but there are a few problems with this tool. Although the tool is very powerful and has a great battery life, it is a very high torque tool with a trigger that must be gently feathered to slow down the speed of drive. Because the trigger is so sensitive, it is very easy to over-drive screws causing twisted-off heads. The hammer drive works very well when one is able to supply sufficient pressure down into the screw, but if one is working in a tight area and unable to supply sufficient force on the back of the tool into the screw head, the hammer action combined with the high torque results in the bit chattering out of the screw head and stripping out the screw head of phillips screws, even with a perfectly fitting driver bit. The driver would have benefitted from a clutch mechanism to prevent over-driving and chattering screws.
Pros: Great battery life, saw and driver very strong tools with supporting action.
Cons: Driver trigger too sensitive and too quick to torque up resulting in chatter and broken off screw heads.
