Product Description
The Blazer GT8000 Big Shot butane torch is a refillable, gas torch with a brass frame nozzle, and attachable base. The torch creates a precise flame, emitting from a nozzle head, allowing direct heat application to an object. It is used for detailed purposes such as brazing, plumbing, soldering, jewelry making, and culinary, dental and lab applications.
The GT8000 has an anti-flare, brass frame nozzle, for safety and flame control. Its design is intended for a low blow-out rate, when held in various positions, or where access is difficult, or space is limited. Its head is angled and it comes with an attachable, tabletop base for hands-free work. It features a gas-flow adjustment dial to control flame length.
The torch houses a piezoelectric ignition system, which is based on a pressurized molecular reaction, and requires no electrical connection. Piezoelectric energy occurs when the trigger is activated, releasing a small, spring-loaded internal hammer that strikes a crystal, producing a spark and resulting in gas flame ignition.
With a maximum flame temperature of 2,500 degrees F, the GT8000 has a continuous burn time of approximately 35 minutes, at maximum fuel volume, and has a 35-gram gas capacity. The torch has an angled head, and its flame range is 1.25 to 5.0 inches. It has a safety component that offers manual lock of the ignition, when not in use. It measures 7.5 (l) x 5.25 (w) x 2.0 (d) inches, weighs 12.0 ounces and has a black body finish. This product is intended strictly for use in professional and industrial environments. In accordance with federal regulations, home use of this product is prohibited.
Since 1985, Blazer Products has created an array of professional and industrial tools and equipment. Located in Farmingdale, NY, the company manufactures a variety of micro torches and ultrasonic cleaners. Blazer Products is known worldwide for its original micro torch products.
The GT8000 operates with a standard butane canister (sold separately).

Best torch I've bought lately
By Jay Branman
this is the 4th torch I've bought in the last 6 months. It's also by far the best. It's definitely worth it to spend a little more on this one than save a few dollars on something that is $20-40 and you'll be replacing in 3-6 months anyway (or the igniter goes out, which is very annoying to use a lighter to light your torch).
UPDATE: After owning this torch for over 4 months now, I figured I'd submit a follow up for my review. There is not much to say though- this torch is exactly like the day I bought it; no signs of wear. I use it several times a day, every single day. Another great thing about the torch I've noticed is that it regulates the gas better than any torch I've had, in the sense that it allows you to use every last bit. When the torch is almost empty, while not quite full strength, it still gives you a decent flame until it's completely empty. And as many people suggest to empty the torch before refilling it, you won't waste that last bit of fuel like with other torches, where the flame just slowly goes down to an unusably small flame for the last 10% of the gas. Every other torch I have owned, regardless of initial quality, have all started to show major signs of wear within 2 months. This torch might be a little more expensive than the others, but if you plan on using it much, it'll be cheaper in the long run as you won't be replacing it.
2 YEAR UPDATE: I have now owned this torch for two years, and I'm happy to report that it has worked flawlessly the entire time. A friend recently purchased a new one, and if you look at mine side by side with his, they look pretty much identical; really shows how well this torch has held up in the long term.
I have read that by doing a couple things you can prolong the life of your torch, which I have always done. Whenever refilling, first allow it to run out completely, and then take a small screwdriver or similar tool and purge the last bit of the butane out- then refill it. Then wait at least 20-25 minutes to allow the gas to warm up inside the torch; it is very cold and there is the possibility of liquid butane being sent through the nozzle of your torch, which will damage it.

It was like PSHHHHHHHH
By Joe
This thing outperforms all other hand-held butane torches that I've used. It gets your material hot and with the quickness! The stand is perfect height to aim at your skillet or whatever else you are heating!

The daddy of torches
By SkinZ
Yes I've used the Bed bath torch and a vector. The gt blazer smashes on all of em. Beastly flame that sparks up every time. From cram brûlée to titanium it's the best.
