The Greater Boston Science & Math Team in Andover was among 11 teams of middle and high school students that won their regional competitions for the 2014 National Science Bowl in January and are advancing to the national finals, which will be held in Washington, D.C., in April. "The National Science Bowl challenges students to excel and heightens their interest in fields vital to America's continued scientific advancement," US Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz said in a prepared statement. The National Science Bowl brings together thousands of middle and high school students from across the country to compete in a fast-paced question-and-answer competition, testing their ability to solve technical problems and answer questions on a range of topics, from biology and chemistry to earth and space science, physics, and math.
