Necessary for flux core wire

If you've got a 135/140 Miller or similar Hobart you'll need this for running flux core. Without it the wire just slips and if you try to just increase the tension you will just burn up the feed motor. Spend the 20 bucks and save yourself the headache. I gave it 4 stars because Miller/Hobart should really include this with the welder!

News flash: Miller and Hobart are both owned by Illinois Tool Works (ITW).
I have been using my neighbors Millermatic 140 110v welder and noticed feed problems. The machine has had almost no use as it sits in my shed most of the time so I wondered what the problem was. Previously, I owned a Lincoln sp125 but I never ran flux core wire. I was getting ready to replace the liner to address the feed problems when I learned that a different drive roll is needed for flux core wire. The roller on the machine was for solid (gas shield) and it laked the grippy knurled surface. I just installed this roller lasts night and there is huge improvement in feed performance. I possibly might replace the liner too just in case it was kinked or dented because my neighbor is very careless with tools.
I purchased this at my local welding shop because I wanted to be able to test it and be sure it fit, solved the issue etc.
